About Me

Qualified Counsellor specialising in gambling

Hi, my name is Kerri, I’m a qualified Integrative Counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I am an also an experienced gambling Recovery Coach and draw on my lived experience of gambling harm to provide a safe and welcoming space for you to explore what might be troubling you.

I understand the challenges that often go hand in hand with a gambling addiction, and have extensive experience working with those experiencing gambling harm having worked for nationwide gambling organisations including Reframe Coaching, thrivin' together and Gordon Moody.

I am committed to helping you explore why gambling might be causing you problems, how it may be impacting you and your life and how you can overcome urges to gamble and find peace within yourself.

It may feel difficult to acknowledge that gambling is having a negative impact on your life, or you may feel that you no longer have the level of control over it that you once had. Often we may not recognise the impact gambling may be having until we start spending more than we can afford to lose. However, often it is the changes to ourselves that we often overlook that have a detrimental effect on our mental health with a lack of confidence, low self-esteem and self-worth being consequences of gambling.

Those close to us may not understand why we can't 'just stop' and you may wonder this yourself. Gambling is an addiction and understanding the neuroscience of what keeps us gambling when it is harmful can be helpful, and often we need specialised counselling to make sense of it.

The most important aspect of counselling is the relationship between us. It is important that you feel comfortable and can trust me so that you feel able to be open and share anything that you need to in our safe and confidential space together. I will help you feel at ease as we gently explore aspects of your life.
